JeanBiography:

Jean Konda-Witte is a working photojournalist with over 25 years of photography experience shooting sports, news, features and the arts.

She has won numerous awards for her photography in both Canada and the U.S., including awards for sports and feature photography from the Suburban Newspapers of America, Canadian Community Newspaper Association, and the Western Canadian News Photographers Association.

Jean's interest and knowledge of all sports and quick reflexes for capturing the peak moment have made her an excellent sports photographer.

Over the last eight years, Jean has combined her love of horses and dogs with her passion for sports photography into a successful business, Photoplay's Portrait, named after her first show horse.

There she photographs show jumping, hunting, dressage, fox hunting and three-day eventing in the equestrian world and agility trials, flyball and lure coursing in the canine world.

When not working the show circuit, Jean teaches basic photography and photojournalism at Kwantlen University College in Richmond, B.C. and works as a photographer/reporter at the Abbotsford Times.

Equipment

The photographers at Photoplay's Portrait use the latest in professional digital equipment, and shoot with only Nikon and Canon cameras, lenses and accessories. At the show site, laptop computers and monitors are set up, where competitors / exhibitors can view photos of themselves before making their selection. Staff is also available to suggest photo choices and layout for photo collages.

Quality photographic color prints, from sizes 5x7 inches to 16x20 inches or larger are produced in a professional photo lab, where every effort is made to ensure perfect color, cropping and enlarging. Custom work is also available, where background distractions can be removed, or words or titles added to the print at the request of the customer. The photographs are printed on genuine photographic paper from the photo lab. They are not ink jet photos printed on site which may run or fade if exposed to moisture or sunlight.
